Support our School
Together, we can make a difference
At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive and caring school community.
Our mission is living and learning inspired by our faith, and we believe that this is something we achieve together – through our children, families, staff, governors, parish and wider community.
There are many ways you can support St Mary’s and help us to provide the very best opportunities and experiences for our children.
Whether you are able to give your time, share a skill, make a donation or support one of our fundraising activities, every contribution makes a difference.
Support us financially
Like schools across the country, we work hard to make the very best use of the funding available to us. Additional financial support allows us to provide resources, experiences and opportunities that enhance our children’s education and enrich school life.
Donations can help us to fund things such as:
- New books and reading resources
- Educational resources and equipment
- Computing and technology
- Sports equipment and opportunities
- Art, music and creative resources
- Outdoor learning and play equipment
- Enrichment activities and workshops
- Visits and experiences for our children
- Improvements to our school environment
Every donation, however large or small, is gratefully received.

Volunteer your time
One of the most valuable ways you can support our school is by giving your time.
There are lots of ways that parents, grandparents, carers and members of our local community can get involved. You might be able to spare an hour occasionally, help regularly, or support us at one of our events.
Volunteers may be able to help with:
- Reading with children
- Supporting school events
- Helping with trips and visits
- Gardening and improving our outdoor spaces
- Preparing resources
- Sharing a particular skill or expertise
- Supporting fundraising activities
- Helping with community events
- Supporting our library or reading initiatives
- Offering careers, hobbies or specialist knowledge to inspire our children
You do not need to be a teacher or have previous experience of working in a school. If you have a skill, interest or simply some time to give, we would love to hear from you.
All volunteering arrangements are subject to our safeguarding procedures and appropriate checks where required.

Share your skills
Our school community is full of talented and knowledgeable people.
Perhaps you are a musician, artist, engineer, scientist, author, business owner, athlete, gardener, designer, healthcare professional or have a particular hobby or passion that could inspire our children.
We would love to hear from members of our community who could share their knowledge, experiences or skills with our pupils.
This could be through:
- A special assembly
- A workshop
- A careers talk
- Demonstrating a skill
- Supporting a curriculum topic
- Helping children understand different careers
- Providing opportunities for children to see how their learning connects to the real world
You never know what might inspire a child to discover a new passion or dream.
Support our school environment
We want St Mary’s to be a place where children feel happy, safe, inspired and proud to learn.
We are always looking for ways to improve our classrooms, playgrounds and wider school environment.
Support could include helping us to:
- Develop our outdoor spaces
- Create inspiring learning environments
- Improve reading areas
- Provide new equipment
- Develop our sports facilities
- Create opportunities for outdoor learning
- Enhance our library and book collections
- Improve resources across the curriculum
If you have ideas, expertise or resources that you think could benefit our school, please get in touch.

Our parish and wider community
As a Catholic school, our relationship with our parish and wider faith community is an important part of school life.
We are grateful for the support, prayer and encouragement that our parish community provides for our children, families and staff.
Together, we help our children to understand that faith is not simply something we learn about, but something that guides how we live, how we treat others and how we serve our community.
Every contribution matters
There is no single way to support St Mary’s.
You might be able to give financially. You might have an hour to spare. You might have a skill to share. You might be able to help at an event or introduce us to a local organisation.
Whatever you can offer, we are grateful.
Our children are at the heart of everything we do, and the support of our whole community helps us to give them the opportunities, experiences and education they deserve.
Thank you for supporting St Mary’s.
Living and learning inspired by our faith.
