Nick Forster R.I.P

It with great sadness that I must tell you that Nick Forster, our site manager, died suddenly at the end of last week.

Nick had only worked with us for the last eight months but had made a huge difference in a very short period of time. He played an important role in keeping our children and staff safe throughout his time with us as well as maintaining the site and carrying out repairs. He had become a much valued member of our staffing team and he will be truly missed.

Nick leaves behind his wife, Katherine and three teenage sons.

We invite you to leave your tributes and memories of Nick below.

Steve Turner - Nick was a faithful member of St. Michaels's, Chiswick. I was always impressed with the way he marshalled his boys to come to church on Sunday - obviously a great dad and a good role model, My prayers are with Katherine and the boys.

Matthew Rock and family - Nick, you will be so much missed by so many people. All the things you did for others, and always with such warmth, humour and fun. You and St Mary's were made for each other, and it's just so sad that your life and this connection were cut short. It was such a joy knowing you and being your friend. Rest in peace, dear Nick, and sending all our love to Katherine, Matthew, Andrew and Jonathan.

Deborah Liset - Very sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Nick's family. A loss to St. Marys. May he R.I.P

Nessa Mahon/Freeman - So so very sad to hear that Nick has passed away suddenly. Our family knew him through Chiswick Cubs too where he was super kind and engaging. Delighted to see him after lockdown at the gates of St Mary's as the new caretaker. Our deepest sympathies to his wife and sons. He was so well regarded. May he now rest in peace. He will be missed a lot.

From the Governing Body - Nick’s untimely death has been a huge shock to our whole school community.

We, your Governing Body, were hugely grateful to Nick for all he did over the time he was with us, especially as he joined the team in such challenging times. We had looked forward to having a long and productive relationship with him. It was not to be.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time.

Andrea Carnevali - I’m still speechless and trying to come to terms with this very sad loss. Nick had only been with us for a few month but in that short time he had already made a huge contribution.
I will treasure the evenings we spent together walking around the classrooms, looking for constructive solutions to make the school an even better and cleaner place.

Louise Hogan - Nick was a big part of my children’s childhood through scouts. A friendly approachable adult that everyone loved.
It was a lovely surprise to see him at St Mary’s and for me it felt like such a good fit for everyone involved.
He was so helpful to year 6 this year, always helping set us set up tables for ice cream sales.
St Mary’s was lucky to have him even for such a short time.
Our thoughts go out to his family. Much love Nick, RIP.

Inna - Such sad news. Nick was such a great person. Always smiling at the gates and being fantastic with the kids. He will be missed.

Deepest condolences to the family . Our prayers & thoughts go to his family. Rest in peace 🙏🏻

The Pickering family - A huge lost and a void left behind. And like Barney, Lola was delighted that although moving from cubs, Nick was still present at school. His warm welcoming smile made gloomy mornings brighter, he had a kind nature and was always ready to help with anything. We are very upset with this very sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time. May Nick rest in peace.

Cheryl Hayes - After many years of Nick being our children's Akela at cubs, it was super to see Nick at St Mary's. Stepping into the large shoes left by Mr Hunt, Mr Forster also had a smile and a friendly hello in the morning. Barney enjoyed having him help on their PGL trip - after his long experience with the scouting association, he was a great choice - and so we are utterly devastated to hear of his untimely passing. Sending our very sincere sympathies to his family and to all the other staff at St Mary's and may Nick rest in peace.
