Admissions Policy and Procedures

St. Mary’s is a voluntary aided school in the Diocese of Westminster. It is in the trusteeship of the Diocese. The school is conducted by it’s Governing Body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with it’s Trust Deed and Instrument of Government, and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. Anyone is welcome to apply for a place at St. Mary’s, however, as a voluntary aided school with a religious character, the school exists primarily to serve the Catholic community and Catholic children always have priority of admission.

1. Reception Class 2018-19

Before making an application to the school, it is essential that you read the Admissions Arrangements 2018-19. Please note that these arrangements were revised in July 2017.

Please refer to the Reception Class (2018-19) Application Cover Letter for details on applying for a Reception Class place at our school starting September 2018.
In addition to your online application, the school requests the completion of 2 forms, which must be submitted to the school office by the application closing date published by the Local Authority.

If you are applying under criteria A2, A3 or A4, the Diocese of Westminster Certificate of Catholic Practice must be completed by the parent and the
Parish Priest, and returned to the school no later than the application closing date.

The Supplementary Information Form (SIF) 2018-19 should be completed by the parent and returned to school no later than the application closing date. The school also requests the child’s original Baptismal Certificate, a copy will be made and the original certificate returned.
